Adam C. Benefield

Council Member, Place 2, City of Lago Vista

I serve as your Place 2 council member for the City of Lago Vista. I moved here in 2021, and you elected me in November 2024. Before that, my work was running companies. I have served as CEO for multiple companies over the past two decades, and that is the experience I bring to reading a budget or a contract.

Before council, I served on the Planning and Zoning Commission and on the Building and Standards Commission. Outside City Hall, I have been a Varsity Boy Scout coach and a PTA president.

On council, my job as I see it is to manage Lago Vista's growth while protecting the quality of life that brought us all here. I care about fiscal responsibility. I also care about building a strong, well-compensated city staff that can serve you well.

I have called Central Texas home since 1982. I chose Lago Vista for its character and its outdoor life. Allison and I have been married since 1998, and we raised four children. We spend our free time on the water and on the course: boating, fishing, kayaking, and golf.

I try to listen before I talk. I believe in working together to reach a decision, and in holding my ground when a principle is at stake.
