What this site collects

Reading this site sets no cookie and shows you no advertising. The site uses Vercel Web Analytics, a cookieless counter that records page views and the page you came from, in aggregate. It does not identify you, and the campaign never sees who visited. Vercel describes it under Vercel’s analytics privacy policy.

The two forms on the contact page collect only what you type:

• Contact form: your name, your email, an optional phone number, and your message.
• Volunteer form: your name, your email, an optional phone number, an optional neighborhood or street, the ways you would like to help, and an optional note.

The form also records the internet address and time the message came from, so that abuse can be spotted. A spam check from Cloudflare Turnstile runs when you submit, under Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Where it goes

Your submission is sent as one email to the campaign inbox, adam.benefield@lagovistatx.gov, with a copy to the campaign’s own address, adam@benefieldforlagovista.com, through the email service Resend. You also receive one confirmation at the address you gave, with no tracking pixel and no tracked links. This website does not keep a copy. Resend keeps a copy of each email in its own logs, under Resend’s privacy policy. The campaign inbox is the only place the volunteer list lives, and only the candidate and the people he asks to help run the campaign can read it. Mail sent to any address at the campaign domain is forwarded automatically to adam.benefield@lagovistatx.gov.

How it is used

To answer your message, to follow up on the help you offered, and for nothing else. Your information is not sold, rented, or shared with any other campaign, party, or vendor. Texas law may require the campaign to report certain contributions; the forms on this site do not take contributions.

Your choices

Email adam.benefield@lagovistatx.gov and ask, and your message and contact details will be deleted from the campaign inbox. You can also write to the campaign at the same address to ask what it holds about you.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard server logs (internet address, page requested, time) for a short period to run the service.
